#TGIFC350 - Perpetual Calendar using Catching Butterflies

 Hello Crafty Friends!

I'm coming back this week to share my entry for the TGIF Challenge #350, using a gorgeous combination of colors!

My take on this week's challenge is not a card but a perpetual calendar that you can use over and over! This would make a great gift to that special someone at any time of the year OR you can just make one for yourself!

This calendar features the Days To Remember stamp set from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog along with the Catching Butterflies stamp set from the 2022 Sale-a-Bration brochure.

To switch from month to month, you can use the "belly band" to slide the window and match the day of the week to the 1st day of the month. I LOVE the clever design that Stampin' UP! did for this!!!!

Each month is removable just by using some velcro.

Watch this quick clip of how the calendar works.

Before you move onto anything else and if you're already intrigued by this project, could you please do me a HUGE favor and head over to TGIF Challenges and cast your vote for my submission by clicking the "Like" button towards the bottom of the post?

#TGIFC349 - Pocket Card with Ribbon closure

 Hello crafty friends!

I'm joining TGIF Challenges this week to present to you my version of adding a closure as posed by challenge #TGIFC349.

I created a pocket card using lots of NEW products from the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog and the 2022 Sale-A-Bration brochure.

Below is a video tutorial I created for this fun fold pocket card. Exact dimensions and supplies are further below.

Cardmaking Tips:

  • I CASED the dimensions for this pocket card from Cazz Boylan. The finished dimensions for this is 3" x 6" when closed and 6" x 9" when open.
  • Score a 12"x12" piece of Very Vanilla card stock at 6". Rotate the paper counter-clockwise and score at 3", 6" and 9". Rotate the paper counter-clockwise again and score at the 3" mark up to the last score line. Remove the 3 squares as marked in the image below. Trim off 1/8" from the right edge in order to fold in.

  • You'll need 1" x 6" Basic Black Cardstock - for border using Eden dies (card front).
  • You'll need to cut the following pieces from the Daffodil Afternoon DSP: 3" x 6" (card front), 3 pcs - 2 7/8" x 2 7/8", 3 pcs - 2 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • you'll need to cut the following pieces from Very Vanilla Cardstock: 3 pcs - 2 1/2" x 5 3/4" , 2 5/8" x 2 5/8", a scrap piece for the sentiment (card front).
  • 16" length of Pale Papaya 3/8" ribbon.
  • other item used: Post it note tape from Amazon

Cardmaking Supplies:

Thank you for joining me today and I would LOVE to hear from you on whether you'll give this project a try.

If you are wanting your very own personal printed copy of the catalogs, please contact your local demonstrator. If you don't have one, feel free to contact me.

Until next time...

I'm so excited to start the new year fresh with NEW Stampin' UP! products and projects from the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Promotion!

COORDINATING DSP COLORS

I've prepared two different versions of a very useful PDF of the new catalog and SAB Designer Series Paper (DSP) coordinating colors. This is useful in a few ways:

  1. Place it in your crafting space to quickly refer to the DSP included in the catalogs.
  2. You can visualize the coordinating colors and pull a couple to help you with your projects.
  3. Since the page # is included, you can view samples using this DSP in your catalogs.
Feel free to save either of these handy 2-page PDFs and print it out in high quality and on regular printer paper.

"FRIENDLY HELLO" PROJECTS
I couldn't wait to jump into the Friendly Hello stamp set and DSP that I pre-earned in December. I'm in love with all the bright colors in the DSP!!!

As the New Year is here, I am setting out to attempt to reach my goal in using every stamp image contained in the stamp set. I did just that with the following 3 projects:

Best Birthday Card

This is a Basic White Notecard (5"x3-1/2") and features two designs of the Friendly Hello DSP  along with the bird image from the Friendly Hello stamp set

Here's the inside of the card

Hello Friend Card

This "Hello Friend" card came together quickly since there was no fussy cutting around the flower image. I simply stamped and colored directly onto the DSP.

Hello Bookmark

I put together a simple and quick bookmark with the Friendly Hello DSP and Stamp set using the remaining images I needed to use.

The base of it measures 4"x3-1/4" and is scored at the 2" mark along the length. Place adhesive on the top and right edges so that the bottom left is open to slide into your pages.

The ribbon was colored in Shaded Spruce using the Stampin' Blends Markers and some 1/2" white faux linen ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack.

Simple and Masculine Graduation Money-Card

Hello Crafty Friends!

I just got back from out of town having celebrated one of my brother's awesome accomplishment... graduating from UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso) with his bachelor's degree in Software Engineering!

Since I couldn't find a fitting gift for him, I decided to give him the choice of getting his own gift by giving him some money.

This is simple, quick and masculine money holder was received well by my brother. FYI... I gave him a lot more than the $10 you see. For the sake of a picture, I slipped in a $10 real quick.

I love how simple this money holder came together with just a few products.

CARDMAKING TIPS

  • Cut a 7-1/2″ x 7″ piece of Basic White Thick cardstock for your base, then scored at 2-1/4″ and 5-1/4″ along the length.
  • You'll need two pieces of In Good Taste DSP that measure 2-1/4" x 7" to adhere onto the card base.
  •  The belly band is cut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock at 1-1/2" x 6-1/2".
  • The stamp is an old retired set from 2014 that I really like to use and is called Pomp and Circumstance.
  • The word "congratulations" is stamped-off throughout the pieces of DSP using Early Espresso ink. The stamping off helps so that the word is more subtle.
  • For the front label, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using the middle-sized die from the Hippo & Friends dies.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Brushed Metallic Cardstock using Staz-On ink. Cut it out with the smallest die from the Hippo & Friends label die. Attach this piece onto the white label using dimensionals. This will adhere onto the belly band as shown below.

  • For the graduation hat, stamp the image onto some Basic Black cardstock using versamark ink. Then heat emboss with white embossing powder. Add a little Wink of Stella for some shimmer, if you'd like.
  • For the inside,
    • Use some Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the left and right edges of the bottom panel of the card base, to create the money pocket.
    • Cut a strip of Brushed Metallic Cardstock at 1/4" x 7" to adhere it about 1/8" below the top edge of the bottom panel.
All you have left is to write your personal message on the top panel of the inside and VOILA!!!

#TGIFC341 - Intricate Leaves Birthday Card

 Hello Crafty Friends!

Welcome to this week's TGIF Challenge #341 entry! This week's challenge is a beautiful color combination of Pale Papaya, Pool Party and Very Vanilla.

I hadn't used a color combination like this one before and couldn't wait to get started! I will be killing two birds with one stone here since I needed to create a card for my mother-in-law, to whom I owe a Birthday card! Eeeek...

My card features the Intricate Leaves dies that I cut out from Basic Black cardstock. The Pale Papaya color was also the star of the show here as I used the ribbon, the shimmery vellum and the inks on the card.

Cardmaking Supplies:

For this card,  you will need the following list of products besides scissors and adhesive: https://s.tamp.in/b6Yz17

Cardmaking Tips:

  • The Very Vanilla Card base measures 4.25" x 5.5"
  • The watercolor strip measures 1.5" x 5.5"
  • Cut two strips of Pale Papaya Shimmery Vellum that measure .5" x 5.5".
  • Use Adhesive sheets to adhere to the back of a piece of Basic Black Cardstock before you cut out the leaves.
  • Cut an 1/8" off of the right edge of the card front to expose the shimmery vellum on the inside of the card.

Once you've gathered your list of products, join me in this video tutorial to create this card!

Thank you so much for joining me!
If you chose to create this card along with me, I would love to know about it! So please comment below!!!

That is all for this week. Until next time ...

#TGIFC340 - Card mashup with Pretty Pumpkins & Detailed Leaves

 Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends!!!

Welcome to another blog post featuring this week's TGIF Challenge #340 that introduces a Challenge Mash-up.

I was able to choose 2 or more challenges from the month and ended up choosing the highlighted options:

  • Color Challenge - Basic Black, Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss
  • Sketch Challenge
  • Halloween
  • Alcohol Blending Technique

Below is my creation that features the Intricate Leaves Dies and the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set. I added a few touches of Gold to tie into that beautiful Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP, which is unfortunately not available at this time.

Cardmaking Tips
  • Cut a 3" x 4" piece of vellum. Use the Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry and Polished Pink Dark Stampin' Blend markers to use the Alcohol Blending Technique. Set aside to dry.
  • Use an A4 cardstock base from Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock.
  • Use the largest Stitched So Sweetly scalloped die to cut out from the Blackberry Beauty DSP and adhere towards bottom right side of card base.
  • Cut out the large leaf and the two small leaves from the Gold foil sheet and adhere on top of the DSP as shown.
  • Use the 2nd largest Stitched So Sweetly scalloped die to cut out from Very Vanilla Cardstock. Adhere on top of the DSP using dimensionals.
  • Bring back the dry piece of vellum and trim it to 2 1/8" x 3 1/4". Use some versamark ink to stamp the detailed pumpkin image onto the center of the vellum. Heat emboss with white embossing powder and adhere with tape adhesive onto the center of the vanilla rectangle.
  • Stamp the sentiment "Gather Together" onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock using versamark ink. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Use your sharp scissors to cut around the sentiment. Adhere on top of embossed vellum using glue dots.
  • Put the final touch onto the detailed pumpkin using the Gold shimmer ribbon that is cut in half, lengthwise and tied into a bow. Adhere with a glue dot.
  • Follow a similar layout from the card front for the inside of the card. This time I left out a sentiment.

Wedding Anniversary Card Using 'Nuts about Squirrels'

 Happy Monday crafty friends!

I am officially celebrating 13 years of marriage to my handsome husband and there's nothing like saying Happy Anniversary than with a handmade card!

I've been behind on using my stamp sets that I've purchased and believe it or not, I hadn't gotten to play with the Nuts about Squirrels stamp set! You can find this adorable stamp set at my Online Store or on page 49 of the Stampin' UP! 2021 Holiday Catalog.

During the making of this card, I really wished there was a punch or dies for this set. The most tedious part about this was having to cut out all those leaves and nuts. However, I was able to manage.

Cardmaking Tips:

  • prepare the Thick Very Vanilla card base background by adding some So Saffron ink with a blending brush, making sure to have the darkest shade at the top.
  • for the Sun in the background, you can choose to create a 2 1/2" circle mask while you're blending the ink OR you can simply add a 2 1/2" circle from Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Use the Cork Specialty Paper to create the tree trunk and the tree branch.
  • Use the oval shape of the Hat Builder Dies to trace the outside of the die onto the middle of the tree trunk. Cut out with scissors. Note: I didn't use the die itself to cut out the shape because I wanted the hole slightly larger.
  • the tree trunk was popped up with dimensionals while the tree branch was adhered directly onto the card front.
  • Stamp about 6 acorns using Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink then cut them out to fill the hole of the tree trunk.
  • Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the tree branch two times as shown.
  • For the masculine squirrel, stamp the 2 images onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Soft Suede for the outline and Crumb Cake for the shading. Cut out with scissors.
  • For the feminine squirrel, use the reverse stamping technique to stamp it onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The Stamparatus and the silicone craft sheet are extremely helpful with this! Add some eyelashes with your Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.
  • Stamp about 20 leaves onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Rich Razzleberry, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze inks. I stamped the image in full strength ink then stamped again without reinking to get the different shades of leaves. Cut them ALL out with your scissors...while you're listening to music or watching TV.
  • The heart was cut out from Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
Inside Card
  • The background for the inside of the card was the same as the front except for the sun image. This time I created a smaller mask (1 1/2" circle) to place onto the cardstock while I added the ink with the blending brush.
  • a 1" strip of the Cork Specialty Paper was adhered directly onto the cardstock using tape adhesive.
  • The tree branch was stamped using Early Espresso ink.
  • the two leaves were stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Cherry Cobbler ink. One leaf was stamped in full strength ink and the other was stamped off, without reinking.
  • Add the sentiment using Early Espresso ink and adhere 2 more acorns underneath.
