Mother's Day Card using NEW "In Colors"!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I've been able to spend a little bit of time creating with the NEW 2023-2025 In Color Collection by Stampin' UP!

2023-2025%20In%20Colors

This color set is quite different than the 2022-2024 In Colors. These are more earthy and muted tones. I've seen these colors in recent bathroom design ideas that I'm currently working on for our remodel. Stampin' UP! is on trend!

As I played with these colors, I joined in on this week's TGIF Challenge #418 - for a special lady.

TGIFC418

My creation was actually inspired by this week's TGIF challenge as well as last week's TGIF challenge (partial die-cutting). These creations will be going to my sweet mama and my mother-in-law. I believe they will enjoy their card!

All the products I used are, thankfully, still available in the NEW 2023-2024 Annual Catalog so you can CASE this easel card as you please.

Cardmaking Tips:

  • Use some Post It Tape to mark the area you don't want to cut. I made mine wide enough to fit the "love you" dies, about 1-1/2".

  • Use the partial die-cutting technique and the detailed Two Tone Flora Die to cut out the detailed background from Moody Mauve cardstock.
  • Use the foam adhesive sheets to cut the background words for "love" and "you" from Pebbled Path Cardstock. Then use the Adhesive Sheets to cut out the top words "love", "you" from Basic White cardstock
  •  The large flower, small flower and flower clusters were stamped with Wild Wheat ink onto Basic White cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies.
  • The leaves were stamped onto basic white cardstock with Garden Green ink (one of the leaves was stamped off).
  • For the inside, stamp the flower clusters on basic white cardstock then adhere to an adhesive foam sheet and cut out with coordinating die.   Stamp the leaves towards the bottom of the Basic white piece with the flower clusters layered on top.
  • the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment on the inside was from the Flowering Tulips stamp set (retired).
  • A touch some Wink of Stella over all the Wild Wheat flowers will finish off the card very nicely. It's hard to see in the pic below.

Mother's Day with "Happiness Abounds"

 Hello Crafty Friends!

I'm too excited to share with you a set of Mother's Day cards using the beautiful Hues of Happiness Suite from page 108-109 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog by Stampin' UP!

This set of cards was inspired by this week's TGIF Challenges

For my cards, I went with black, white, gray and a hint of color. I really think my mom and mother-in-law will enjoy their card! Now I need to accompany the card with some chocolate and flowers.

 Cardmaking Instructions:

  • Cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" then place  the "trellis" die towards the bottom of the cardstock piece and zip it through the Stampin' Cut. The Take your pick die Brush Tip is super handy when removing the small pieces from the cardstock.
  • Cut a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock to 2-3/16" x 4-3/16" and adhere it behind the white cardstock piece.
  • Stamp the sentiment towards the top left corner using Memento Black ink onto the white cardstock piece then use dimensionals to adhere to the center of your Basic White Thick card front.
  • Make a large bow using the Playful Pets black and white twine (retired) and adhere to behind the bottom right corner of the white cardstock piece using a glue dot. Unwind the twine ends to loosen them and separate the fibers.
  • Stamp 2 each of the large and small leaf images onto Smoky Slate cardstock using Smoky Slate ink and cut out with the coordinating dies. Adhere the larger leaves directly onto the card front, being sure that they are behind the twine.
  • Trim a piece of the Hues of Happiness DSP to 2-3/8" x 12" then stamp the large rose image onto the DSP using Smoky Slate ink. Cut out the flower using the coordinating die. If you plan to make several cards, you can get about 5 roses from this strip of paper.
  • Use the fine tip of your Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to sketch over the center of the rose.
  • Adhere the rose to the bottom right corner of the white cardstock piece then slip the 2 smaller leaves you cut out earlier, directly behind the rose.
  • Finish off the card front with a few Matte Black Dots placed randomly on the card.
  • I added some Wink of Stella to the rose but the picture doesn't show it well.
  • Below you see the inside of the card. The stamped sentiment is from the Flowering Tulips stamp set. Colored the small flowers with some Stampin' Blends (Pool Party on left, Mango Melody on right) to match the rose in the front.
