Gilded Autum Suite Preview

Hello, Hello!

I'm excited to show you project samples of my favorite Stampin' UP! Fall suite from the upcoming 2020 Holiday catalog... the Gilded Autumn Suite.

While I still cannot show you the catalog images until August 4th, I will show you some samples that I've been playing with: 2 cards and one frame sampler.

Let's begin with the Cards... the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Paper is simply beautiful, I had a hard time deciding what to use so I tried two different patterns on the same card and I still can't decide which one I like the best. They're both beautiful!

Here's the inside of the card... very simple and with plenty of room to write a personal note.

Here are some TIPS for the card front:

  • I used the Autumn Punch Pack to create an embossed effect by simply punching out the shapes from Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered it to a 2.75" x 3.75" piece of Very Vanilla.
  • Use the Autumn Punch Pack again to punch out the images that are already on the Gilded Autumn Specialty Paper. I love the fact that Stampin' UP! is coordinating their paper this way!
  • Make sure you wrap the ribbon of your choice around the back of the 4"x3" piece of Brushed Metallic Cardstock before you adhere it to the card front. I tend to forget this step!

GILDED AUTUMN WREATH-FRAME
My third project using this gorgeous suite is a wreath that I framed and am really happy with the end product!

Here's a close-up of the actual wreath...

Here are some TIPS for the wreath:
  • Use a 6"x 6" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and mark the center with a ruler and pencil. I used a compass to make a 4" circle so that I can begin layering my sprigs, using the Sprig Punch, as shown below.
  • I failed to count how many branches I ended up cutting but it's probably between 40 to 50. Do one layer at a time from each color of the Brushed Metallic Cardstock until you get the desired cover you want to see.
  • You may use glue dots or Tombow glue to adhere your sprigs. I ended up using the glue dots because the Tombow glue was getting messy.
  • I matted the 6"x6" piece with an 8"x8" piece of Gilded Autumn DSP.
  • The 10"x10" (9"x9" inside) frame I used was a Christmas gift from a family member and she purchased it from Beall's, which is unfortunately going out of business in most places!
  • The two ribbons (Mint Macaron Basket Weave & Copper metallic) you see on the samples are gorgeous and come in a combo pack. I used both for this frame in order to include a couple of Acorn Trinkets for some added accessories.
  • The label at the bottom is trimmed to 1/2" width and then punched each end using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

I sure hope you enjoyed all the projects I featured today! Please remember that most of the items I featured are not yet released to the public for purchase but will VERY SOON on August 4th!! Stay Tuned!

If you would like to receive your own personal copy of the new 2020 Holiday Catalog, please contact your local demonstrator. If you don't have one, I would be glad to provide you with one! Simply send me an e-mail.

Until next time...

Playing with Patterns Projects

Hello, hello!!!

I'm super excited to share with you some creations I put together this week as I was playing around with the Playing with Patterns Suite from page 100 of the 2020-2021 Stampin' UP! Annual Catalog.

I am just head over heels for this Suite! The color combinations and the products available in this suite are awesome!

This week I created three projects: 2 birthday cards and 1 frame.
I will begin with this "Happy B-Day" card.

HAPPY B-DAY CARD

Card Front

Inside Card
Believe it or not, I've had the Embossing Paste in my drawer waiting to be played with since last year and I finally got it out this time! It did take me some work as I played with it and I do have a dud as you can see with the polka dot piece below on the right. I knew I wanted a rainbow pattern and used the Pattern Party Decorative Masks from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.
TIPS:
  • If you haven't heard already, this embossing paste does dry pretty fast so you need to work quickly and make sure you rinse your tools under warm ater as soon as you are done using it.
  • A little bit goes a LOOOONG way, so start with a little bit of paste and add 1 drop of re-inker of your choice of color.
  • In order to thread the Faux Linen ribbon through the Stitched Nested Label, I used the two "I"s from the Playful Alphabet dies as shown below. I used a little bit of washi tape to keep the dies in place as I ran it through my Big Shot machine.
PRODUCT LIST:

BIRTHDAY WISHES CARD
Card #2 is the "Birthday Wishes" card

Card Front

Inside Card

For this card, I wanted to cut out some strips of the different patterns of the Playing with Patterns DSP to showcase them on the card front. This card came together pretty quickly.

TIPS:
  • To achieve the different lengths of paper strips, don't cut them in different lengths. Instead, cut the 1 inch strips all the same length and offset them from the left edge of the card and then trim them with scissors after adhering them in place.
PRODUCT LIST:

LOVE FRAME
Finally, for this 3rd project I didn't want to make a card. Instead, I wanted to create a piece frame for our family of 5 using this beautiful paper and I'm super happy with the outcome! I just may make a few more for some family members.

Mostly everything I used to create this project uses current Stampin' UP! products except for the Family & Friends stamp set (2019 Occasions catalog) and the Varied Vases stamp set from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

I did use alot of different products for this frame piece so it is involved and at an advanced level.

Below is a closer look at each segment of the frame piece:

TIPS:
  • The overall size of the piece is 5" x 7"
  • Cut 2" squares from Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry Cardstock. 2 of each color.
  • Cut 6 - 1 7/8" squares from the Playing with Patterns DSP.
  • I stamped the little people onto whisper white cardstock with Memento Ink and colored them with my Stampin' Blends. I fussy-cut them and adhered onto the paper using dimensionals.
  • The heart in the top middle square is cut out from Night of Navy cardstock using the smallest stitched heart from the Stitched Be Mine dies. I cut another heart out of Calypso Coral Cardstock and trimmed off the edge along the stitch line. Layer on top of the Navy heart using a dimensional.
  • The sentiment, "love is what makes us family", was too long to fit in my square so I used my Night of Navy marker to color "love is what makes us" and stamp it onto the White cardstock first. Then I cleaned my stamp then used the marker again to color the "family" part and stamped it below the first part of the sentiment.
PRODUCT LIST:
  • Family Love Frame
  • Family & Friends stamp set (Retired from 2019 Occasions catalog)
  • Varied Vases stamp set (Retired from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog)

This is all I have for today! I do hope you enjoyed them and be sure to comment below on your thoughts of these projects (Please be kind).
Don't hesitate to contact me for any questions!

Until next time...

The class kit will include ten (10) project kits for 5 cards and 5 3-D boxes plus the full color step-by-step PDF tutorial.

Each class kit will arrive at your front door sorted and organized by project. I will do all the scoring, punching and cutting for you (other than what needs to be done with your new Sunflowers Dies). This kit is a great option so you can put these together at your own pace!

You will need to be sure you have Memento Black ink, a Black Stampin' Write marker, a Die Cutting machine (such as the BigShot), and the following Adhesives: Stampin’ Seal (the new replacement for SNAIL), Tombow, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.

This To-Go class has three (3) options you can choose from:

2020-2021 Stampin' UP! Catalog is LIVE

Hello everyone!
I'm ecstatic to show you the brand new 2020-2021 Stampin' UP! Annual Catalog!!! Click on the image below to access the PDF version of the catalog.
Stampin' UP! continues to amaze me with their amazing products and beautiful samples!

World of Good
As a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, I had the opportunity to play with a few products, just like the World of Good suite from pages 24-26 of the catalog.

I made the card below using the Beautiful World stamp set as a thank you note for my supervisor. I simply love the overall theme of the Suite and the classy look to it!
If you look a little closer to the left side of page 25, you'll see where my inspiration came from.
You may not see it very well, but that 1/4" Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim/ribbon below the "Thank You" feels amazing and I love the finishing touch to the card.

Below is the inside of the card.

The link below is a list of supplies that I used for this card that you can add to your Online Order.

Celebrate Sunflowers
The Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set is a part of the "Flowers for Every Season" suite from page 10-13 of the new catalog. This is one of my favorite stamp sets in the catalog! It's so cheery and lovely altogether. Look at that Designer Paper!!!
Below is a gift card holder that I CASED from Erica Cerwin, which I found on Pinterest. I made this as a thank you gift for my son's 1st grade teacher.

I used the exact same measurements that she used except my theme is different.
  • Box bottom- 4 3/4" X 5" Bumblebee Cardstock, score the long side at 2 1/2"
  • 2 1/2" X 1 1/4" Whisper White Cardstock
  • 2 1/2" X 1 1/8" Bumblebee DSP
  • Box top- 5 1/4" X 3" Bumblebee Cardstock, score the short side at 1 1/2"
  • 5 1/8" X 1 3/8"  Whisper White Cardstock
  • 5" X 1 1/4"  Bumblebee DSP
  • Inside card holder- 3 1/4" X 4" Bumblebee Cardstock
  • 3 1/8" X 3 7/8" Whisper White Cardstock
I used all new Stampin' UP! products except for the "Pull Here" at the top the card. This is a stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps called One-of-a-kind. This stamp set is perfect for interactive cards like this one.

The link below is a list of supplies that I used for this card that you can add to your Online Order. Please note that I did use the Pigment Sprinkles which have retired.

Resources
I would like to share a resource with you that I created: The 2020-2021 Designer Series Paper Coordinating (DSP) Colors Sheet. I use this often when I'm planning a project that uses the DSP . Another thing I use it for is when I look for coordinating colors since it helps me visualize those colors together.
I recommend printing off this sheet on some good paper with a high print quality so you can view the colors as close to their actual color.

ODE TO BROADWAY BIRTHDAY

Happy Saturday to you!

Thanks for joining me on today's post featuring the Broadway Birthday stamp set from the 2019-2020 Annual Stampin' UP! Catalog.

The Broadway Birthday stamp set is one of the many retiring items from the annual catalog as we prepare to receive the NEW 2020-2021 Annual Catalog on June 3rd. If you'd like to see what else will be retiring this month, check it out on my Online Store

I absolutely love this stamp set and coordinating Broadway Lights dies and hate to see it go so I thought it would be appropriate to create a blog-post on it.

This time I didn't make birthday cards, I made cards that celebrates 2 young women for their high school graduation: my little cousin and a friend whom has been my boy's babysitter.
CARD TIPS:
  •  I did use the Well Said stamp set for the "congratulations" sentiment, which is not retiring and will be carrying over to the new catalog. YAY!
  •  The "Hooray" at the very top of the card is stamped-off using the Daffodil Delight ink. Then I stamped the "Hooray" in the following colors in this order from top to bottom: Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove and Terracotta Tile.
This inside of the card also uses more sentiments from the Well Said stamp set.
I tried to carry over the same theme from the card front to the inside.

Click on the item below to view or purchase any of the products I used for these cards:
