Stampin UP core'dinations cardstock

I am still loving the core'dinations cardstock from the Holiday catalog! I recently made my mother-in-law a card for her birthday and knew this layout and type of card would suit her taste well....elegant and vintage.

My tips:
  • don't have the designer paper to match your colors and theme? Make your own with stamp sets that will match the design of your card! I used the retired Fresh Vintage stamp set from sale-a-bration on the top part of the card.
  • Use the rock-n-roll technique to add more color to your flower.
  • use the core'dinations cardstock and sanding block with any embossing folder of your choice to add depth and dimension.

  • to make the extended petals of the flower, use a 1 1/4" circle punch to punch out the center of a core'dinations CS flower, then trim each petal. Adhere to the back of the petals of your flower.

  • use the same circle you punched out... reduce it to 1", emboss, sand, and then adhere to the center of your flower! I love it when scraps are used!

Supplies used:
  • cardstocks: gumball green, very vanilla, early espresso core'dinations CS
  • stamp sets: Fresh vintage (retired from sale-a-bration), mixed bunch
  • Inks: gumball green, early espresso
  • Punches: 1 1/4" circle, blossom
  • embellishments: Antique brads
  • Ribbon: 1/2" very vanilla seam binding
  • big shot "vintage wallpaper" embossing folder

Tell me, how are you liking the core'dinations cardstock? Like it or Love it??? Are you using it over and over? Comment on this post below.

Stampin Up September stamp club projects

It's Back to Spool  time! receive a FREE spool of 2012-2014 IN COLOR ribbon for every $40 you spend!

With back to spool  in mind, create a perfect little "thinking of you" card to stick inside your niece/nephew, grand kids, or kiddos' lunch bag as they go back to school.

The Moving Forward stamp set is one of my favorite! We used this stamp set to create the card below.

I got the idea of using different lengths of paper and ribbon from pg 138 of the SU Catalog.

Stamping on the cotton ribbon was a breeze to do and the best part is, you can stamp on it with whatever your little heart desires!

The kids would get a kick out of seeing that cute lil frog jumping out of the basket in the back of that bike.... although, it might give them ideas.....hmmmmm =o)

I'm loving how there are different sizes of circles on the essentials paper piercing pack to give the border of the circle some texture and an extra little touch.

As I had mentioned in the beginning, place this hand-made card in your kids' lunch bag that you also prepared for them.

Have you tried the new core'dinations card stock?!!! it's the best thing ever! a perfect combination of the cardstock, the new woodgrain embossing folder and the new sanding block makes the banner look like a real piece of wood! don't you just love it?!!! I know I DO!

A quick few letters stamped with versamark personalizes your  niece/nephew, grand kids, or kiddos' lunch bag and makes him/her feel special.

The famous owl punch is what I used to put together these two cuties! I also doubled up on the branches using the bird punch and mirrored one branch to the other.
