Welcoming the 2015-2016 SU! Catalog

The awaited moment has arrived!
Take a look at this new beauty: the 2015-2016 annual Stampin' UP! catalog (click on the image to view a pdf)

http://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/catalogs/2015-2016%20Annual/20150601_AnnualCatalog_en-US.pdf

To kick off the fun, I have created a mini treat bag using the new gift bag punch board (pg 150), the new 2015-2017 In-colors (pg 137),  the mini bow builder punch (pg 167) and much more.

These cuties measure 3.5"H x 2.75" W. Thanks to Artisan member Helene Legrand, I was able to create a tab to close the top of the bag with some velcro dots. Love it!!!

The template below is similar to what Helene created.
This template measures 10" L x 6" W

I hope this simple and quick project got you inspired to get started with the new catalog products! I've got my wish list ready to go!!!

Birthday box and slider cards

As I anxiously await the arrival of my baby boy (which is now 7 days overdue), my mom and I have had the opportunity to sit down and create a couple of projects together. It's been a wonderful experience since my momma and I don't get to do that very often since she lives so far away!

We sat down and created a birthday box using the box punch board. It's always fun being able to create a box with this tool, isn't it?!
This 3.25"x3.25" box is simple, colorful, and fun. What do you think?

Supplies Used:

Next up, I had seen a video by Dawn Griffith on how to create this adorable slider card and just had to make one! Here's her blogpost and video: http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/2014/07/slider-card-video.html

We created a feminine and a masculine version of the slider card and it came together rather quickly!
All but the paper and ribbon of the supplies used to make this card is current. We used the Retro Fresh DSP from the 2014 Occasions catalog as our choice of paper and the 3/8" pool party ruffled ribbon from the 2012-2013 catalog.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I do hope that you enjoyed our creations!

Until next time....

Christmas Tea

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of decorating a table for the Ladies Christmas Tea at our church building. Being a lover of all things Stampin' UP!, I got to planning the decorations!

Unfortunately, not everything is SU!, but I was super excited to use my favorite color combo from page 20 of the holiday catalog: Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky, Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzaz, and Whisper White PLUS silver glimmer paper . This became the foundation of my inspirations.

I just had to CASE the gift box shown on pg 20 of the Holiday Catalog because it was all around beautiful. Of course I made it my own using the gift box punch board and the All is Calm DSP. I'm now kicking myself that I didn't take a picture of the tops of the gift boxes when I had the chance but you can at least see a couple of them below.

The other two projects I created as gifts for the ladies at my table, are 1- a decorative easel and 2- a bookmark. These ideas emerged from my desire to use the Newborn King stamp set from page 19 of the Holiday catalog. An absolutely beautiful set it is!

Book mark using the Newborn King stamp set and All is Calm DSP

Decorative easel using the Newborn King stamp set and SU! markers (for coloring in).

Below is a list of where I got my supplies:
  • table cloth and white mugs - Bed Bath and beyond
  • placemats and cloth napkins - Target
  • garland, decorations, round mirror, decorative candle holders  - Hobby Lobby
  • wine glasses - Dollar General
  • plates - borrowed from a friend (but I saw them at the Dollar General)
  • mini Easel and mini canvas - Michaels
  • silverware - from my own home

My tips:
  • mini canvas
    •  I used black stazon ink to stamp the image directly onto the canvas. I colored in the trees using markers and a watercolor brush.
    • I used some silver 1/8" ribbon  to create a bow and adhere to the top of the snowflake embellishment with a glue dot.
    • stamp "Glory..." onto white cardstock and adhere to canvas with tombo glue.
  • bookmark
    • fold a piece of 4" x 3.25" DSP or cardstock in half, making sure that it opens from left to right. Decorate as desired including ribbon. Sew top and right side. EASY PEASY.

I am pleased with the turnout and cannot express how thankful I am for having Stampin' UP! as my inspiration to my creations. I'm also thankful for being able to be a part of this fun event with my friends.

Thank you for stopping by! Let me know what you think.
Until next time.....
